The Department of History at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Modern East Asian History position to begin August 2018. We seek scholars who specialize in the history of China, Japan, and/or Korea after 1600.
A Ph.D. in history or a related field is required at the time of appointment. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda and teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses. These would include introductory lecture courses on East Asian history, undergraduate surveys and seminars in the history of China, Korea, and/or Japan, and graduate courses in research methods and thematic topics related to the candidate’s interests.
