James Madison University's History Department invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor to begin late August 2018.
The successful candidate will teach the World History and Russian History Surveys, and other General Education courses in World History, as well as upper-division and graduate courses in Russia/USSR, as determined by the needs of the History Department.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in History or a related field and must have teaching experience. The candidate must value the mission of the University's General Education program and demonstrate a commitment to intellectual growth through teaching. Ability to develop courses that place Russia/USSR in a transnational context is highly desirable. The History Department is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
