The Gender Studies Division of the University of Utah’s School for Cultural and Social Transformation invites applications for a tenure-track assistant or tenured associate professor with published research and teaching expertise in the fields of disability studies and gender studies. We particularly welcome candidates whose work intersects with critical race studies, women of color feminisms, queer theory, feminist theories, feminist history, and/or transnational studies. The University of Utah values candidates who will contribute to a vibrant scholarly climate, and the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to research and teaching.
A Research-1 public institution, the University of Utah has approximately 25,000 undergraduate and 8,000 graduate students. The University has resources to support scholarship, community-based research, and teaching, and both the School and the Gender Studies Division are committed to community engagement. The University has had a disability studies minor since 2010; this position may include some targeted course release for program-building in disability studies.
