~~Modern Europe since 1815. The University of Richmond invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in modern European history, excluding Britain and Russia, to begin fall semester 2018. Specialty is open. Ability to teach broadly in the region is required; to place European developments in a global context (e.g. imperialism, colonialism, transnationalism, immigration, multiculturalism, etc.) highly welcome. In addition to maintaining an active research program, the appointee will be expected to contribute to the general education program, teach advanced courses in the field, and participate, as appropriate, in such related interdisciplinary programs as International Studies; Environmental Studies; Healthcare Studies; and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. A Ph.D is required. ABDs will be considered, but must have completed the Ph.D. by the August 2018 start date.
