Hawaii Pacific University invites applications for a one year Visiting Assistant Professor in Diplomatic/International History to begin in August 2017. Candidate must hold a Ph.D. in History (or a closely related discipline) OR a Master’s degree in History (or a closely related discipline) combined with professional experience commensurate to a doctorate (i.e. a credentialed diplomat). Required specialization is in U.S. Diplomatic History/Foreign Relations with preference for additional specialization in Asia or the Asia-Pacific region. Candidates must be qualified to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in US Diplomatic History as well as both undergraduate and graduate courses in additional area of specialization. The successful candidate will contribute to our undergraduate programs in history and international studies, as well as our BA and MA in Diplomacy and Military Studies.
