Description:
The Department of History at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time lecturer in American history beginning August 1, 2017.
This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal. Teaching load is 4/4.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess the following requirements:
- PhD in history by time of appointment.
- Ability to teach introductory survey and advanced courses in American history.
- Additional ability to teach world history survey courses an asset.
- Willingness to engage in alternative modes of instruction, including online.
- Willingness to engage in assisting the UTC campus in its ability to reach additional goals as specified in UTC’s Strategic Plan.

Chattanooga, the fourth largest city in the state, is located in Southeast Tennessee near the border of Georgia at the junction of four interstate highways. Home to the first Gig Internet in the United States, Chattanooga has a 100% fiber network that links every home and business in a 600-square mile area.
