Visiting Assistant Professor, U.S. History

The Department of History at Kalamazoo College invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position for one year—September 2017 through June 2018.  The position involves teaching a two-term U.S. history survey and four upper-level courses, including a junior research seminar, over three quarters (two courses during each ten-week term).  Field of specialization is open, but position is responsible for most U.S. history courses and will need to offer a variety of classes.  The position also requires advising senior theses and administering comprehensive exams.  Ph.D. (or evidence of imminent completion) required.  Prior teaching experience is desirable.  Candidates must demonstrate an interest in undergraduate teaching.  The Departmental website can be viewed at: http://www.kzoo.edu/history.
