The Strassler Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Clark University invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor in Holocaust History for the academic year 2017-18. We seek a junior scholar who will be engaged in the research life of the Center, with responsibilities to teach two courses per semester, and offer one additional unit each semester of research-oriented instruction through independent studies at the graduate level. These activities will contribute to Clark’s undergraduate concentration in HGS and the History Department’s PhD program in Holocaust History and Genocide Studies. The visiting professor will be a full participant in the Strassler Center scholarly community, attending lectures and events, mentoring students, and presenting their research.
The successful candidate will possess a doctorate in History, strong teaching credentials, and research publications. Applicants whose research demonstrates strong expertise on the Jewish perspective and experience of the Holocaust will be most competitive.
