APPLICATION DEADLINE: January 3, 2017
The Dickey Center for International Understanding at Dartmouth College invites applications for the 2017-18 (September - June) Dartmouth Fellows Program in U.S. Foreign Policy and International Security. This is a multidisciplinary program which brings together historians, political scientists, and scholars in other fields who are conducting research on problems pertaining to U.S. foreign policy and international security, both past and present.
While scholars at all stages of their careers will be considered, recent recipients of the Ph.D or equivalent degree are especially welcome to apply. Fellows must be in residence during their Fellowship and are asked to participate in Dickey Center seminars and events, participate in teaching a seminar (with the other fellows and a faculty member), and are invited to take advantage of other Dartmouth activities.
The Dickey Center for International Understanding encompasses War and Peace Studies, the Global Heath Initiative, the Institute for Arctic Studies (an interdisciplinary center for the study of the environment, climate change and policy implications), and new research foci in human development and gender. Researchers with projects that intersect any of these areas are particularly encouraged to apply.
Fellows receive competitive stipends, research support and benefits, comparable to those offered by other fellowship programs. Faculty on leave from their home institutions will receive half of their annual salary, up to $50,000. Dartmouth is an EE/AO employer.
Applications will be evaluated on the basis of the quality and significance of the proposed research and its relevance to U.S. foreign policy and international security, and the ability of the applicant to benefit from interaction with and mentoring from Dartmouth faculty in the Departments of History, Government, and other relevant academic units.
Information and application instructions are available at: http://dartgo.org/dartmouthforeignpolicypostdoc. Applications must be received by Tuesday, January 3, 2017 to ensure consideration.

• Research abstract (200 words max.)
• A statement of up to 1,500 words describing the proposed research project

• Two confidential letters of reference
• Graduate school transcript (Unofficial transcripts are acceptable. Junior faculty and professionals may include a transcript, but are not required to do so.)
