The History Department at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville seeks a full-time tenured/tenure-track appointment in Medieval European History (500-1400) at the assistant to full professor rank. The appointment will begin fall semester 2017. Ph.D. required at the time of appointment. Field of specialization is open. Preference will given to candidates with a demonstrated excellence in teaching and a significant record of publication, including a monograph, either already published or in press. The successful candidate will teach at both the graduate and the undergraduate level, including survey courses in Western Civilization and/or World History, more advanced specialized courses, and undergraduate and graduate research seminars, and will participate actively in Marco, the Medieval and Renaissance Studies Institute. The Knoxville campus is seeking candidates who have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.
