Assistant Professor - Early Modern/Modern Europe, Director of Judaic and Holocaust Studies – Tenure-Track

Summary of Position: Will serve as director of Judaic and Holocaust Studies. Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in relevant fields: Jewish History, Early Modern and/or Modern Europe; pursue appropriate scholarship, and participate in department, college and university service activities.
The History Department at YSU currently has ten members distributed in fields across the discipline, and offers BA/MA courses. In addition to our traditional curriculum we offer courses in Applied and Public History and serve as the home of two “endowed” programs, the Center for Judaic and Holocaust Studies and the Center for Applied History. We also operate the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor as the managing partner with the Ohio History Connection.
Minimum Qualifications: An earned Ph.D/Doctorate in History is required. Major field in Jewish and/or Holocaust studies, Early Modern and/or Modern Europe. Demonstrable experience in grants, public programming, and/or community relations.
Desired Qualifications: Teaching experience desired but not required for consideration.
