FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The multidisciplinary Social Science Department at LaGuardia Community College, CUNY, invites applications for a tenure-track position in United States history to begin in September 2017. The field of specialization is open. Preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience and to applicants who will have their Ph.D. in hand by the time of appointment. The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of assistant professor or instructor, depending on qualifications. She or he will be expected to teach both halves of the US history survey as well as topical introductory-level history classes. Faculty members are expected to support departmental, divisional and college initiatives, to pursue an active research and publication agenda, and to engage in professional development activities.

QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
