Morgan State University seeks an expert in public history with any subspecialty. The successful applicant will be expected to take a leadership role in the department's proposed undegraduate public history minor and in the graduate museum studies program and to teach classes in their subspecialty at the undergraduate and graduate levels. A Ph.D. in history (by August, 2017), teaching experience at an urban university, and potential for scholarship are desired for applicants at the assistant professor level. More senior applicants should be able to demonstrate a distinguished record of teaching and publication. For best consideration applications, including a statement of research interest, CV, three letters of recommendaiton and unofficial transcripts, should be received by December 9, 2016. We will conduct interviews at the annual meeting of the American Historical Association in Denver. Morgan State University, a Ph.D. granting HBCU, is an AA/EO employer.
