At the Institute for Medical History of the University Hospital of Bonn, the following vacancies are to be filled as of April 1, 2017:
3 research assistants
(2 full-time jobs, 100% = 38.5 hours a week;
1 part-time job, 50% = 19.25 hours a week)
The employment is limited to 3 years with the option of renewal.
Your qualifications include:
- a completed degree in history and history of science or philosophy and history of science or medicine or biology in combination with a degree (B.A. or M.A.) in humanities (for example, classical philology, philosophy, history or literary studies)
- native speaker level of English, basic skills of German and skills in other languages: Latin or French
Key tasks and responsibilities:
The tasks include active participation in research and teaching (i.e. global healh issues, medical terminology for medical students or interdisciplinary fields such as “medical history, theory and ethics of medicine” as part of the curriculum or as elective courses). Participation in the planning and implementation of scientific events as well as support for applications for third-party funding and ongoing projects is expected. The positions offer the opportunity to work independently on a research topic in the areas of history of medicine, philosophy of medicine and medical ethics, which may lead to a PhD or to postdoctoral specification. This can be developed in conjunction with a suitable post-doc application for third-party funding.
