Assistant Editor – Arts and Humanities

Britannica is looking for an Assistant Editor in the arts and humanities. Qualified candidates will have broad knowledge of a particular field or fields (e.g., music, visual arts, dance, theater, architecture, literatures and languages), and they’ll bring an enthusiasm for seeking answers and transforming those answers into clear, accessible text.
-- Writing and editing encyclopedic articles on subjects and individuals in the arts and humanities.
-- Collaborating with colleagues, contributors, and advisers to determine the shape and direction of Britannica’s coverage of these fields.
-- Working on deadline to develop and produce content unique to Britannica.com.
Skills and qualifications:
-- Applicants must have significant, demonstrable writing and editing experience.
-- An M.A. or Ph.D. in a specific field within the arts and humanities is preferred.
