The Department of History and Philosophy at Eastern Michigan University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in the History of the United States since 1945. Preference will be given to candidates with an emphasis on one or more of the following areas: U.S. in the World, Immigration History and/or Ethnic Studies, or Capitalism. Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in History or American Studies from an accredited university by August 2017, a research agenda, and some teaching experience. To be considered for this position, applicants should submit a cover letter that outlines courses the candidate would like to teach at the introductory, upper-division, and graduate levels, a curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation, and a chapter/article sized writing sample.
