The Department of History at Auburn University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in History of Technology, with specific topical focus and geographic region open. The appointment will begin August 16, 2017. Candidates already holding a PhD in History are desired, although outstanding candidates who are in the final stages of their doctoral candidacy (ABD) will be considered. Appointment to the tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor requires the earned degree by August 16, 2017. We especially desire candidates with active research agendas and teaching experience. The successful candidate will be able to make contributions to teaching in the Technology and Civilization sequence of the university core curriculum, as well as the undergraduate program and the graduate program.
