The Political Science Department at the University of Colorado, Denver, invites applications for a Political Science specialist to fill a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor, starting August 2017. Applicants should have areas of expertise in the field of American Political Thought, with a critical approach to such issues as: race, gender, class, GLBTQ, disability or age. Applicants focusing either on historical or current perspectives in these fields are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will be rostered as a tenure-track assistant professor in either the Political Science Department. This position comes with research, teaching and service expectations. The standard teaching load is 2/2 (four courses an academic year), at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Political Science or a closely related field from an accredited university; track record of engaging and innovative teaching; record of scholarly achievement or promise of future scholarly achievement; areas of expertise in the field of American Political Thought, with a critical approach to such issues as: race, gender, class, GLBTQ, disability or age.
GENERAL QUALITIES DESIRED: The Political Science Department is interested in candidates who can create innovative American studies courses. The Department values candidates with a record of, or interest in, community engagement.
