History of Native Americans. The Department of History at Central Michigan University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in the History of Native Americans, beginning August 2017. The successful candidate will teach a three-course load each semester, to include the History of Native Americans survey and other courses as assigned. The department offers the opportunity to work with graduate students in its Joint Doctoral Program in Transnational and Comparative History. Ph.D. in History required by time of appointment. The successful applicant must demonstrate potential for excellence in both teaching and scholarship. Applicants will be asked to provide a letter of application, c.v., a statement of teaching philosophy, a diversity statement, a brief writing sample, and names and contact information for three references. The position is opened until filled, but priority consideration will be given to applications submitted by November 4, 2016.
