Muhlenberg College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Chinese History to begin in August 2017. The ideal candidate will also be able to teach Japanese History at the survey level. We expect this hire to contribute to the growth and development of our Asian Studies Program as well as the College’s Human Diversity and Global Engagement general academic requirement. All members of the History Department teach topical Introduction to History courses as well as upper-level courses in their field. Department faculty frequently teach First-Year Seminars and our linked integrative learning Cluster courses. History courses also are significant contributions to the College’s Humanities requirement.
We seek applicants who are excellent and innovative teachers with both a strong commitment to teaching in a Liberal Arts environment and an active research program. Ph.D. must be in hand by time of appointment.
