Rice University, School of Architecture
Wortham Fellowship
Institution Type: | College / University |
Location: | Texas, United States |
Position: | Fellow |
Rice School of Architecture invites applications and nominations for two Wortham Fellows. The Wortham Fellowship was established twenty-one years ago to give promising and outstanding candidates the opportunity to teach and conduct research. This two-year teaching fellowship is specifically targeted at individuals at or near the beginning of their careers. The school is particularly interested in candidates with a clear design/research/intellectual agenda.
This position is available beginning fall 2017. Candidates should hold, at a minimum, a Master of Architecture degree or its equivalent. A teaching load of three courses includes a studio and the Watkin Sequence (a fall seminar is directly tied to a spring semester studio during the fourth year of the undergraduate program), which allows the Wortham Fellows to develop their individual lines of research and teaching.
Applications should include a (1) letter of interest; (2) curriculum vitae; (3) proposed research agenda; (4) 1-2 samples of course syllabi; (5) samples of professional, scholarly, or creative work (9MB maximum); and contact information for three references. Shortlisted candidates may be asked to submit a full portfolio at a later date.

Rice does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national or ethnic origin, ancestry, age, disability or veteran status in admissions, educational programs, or employment.
