Tenure-track Assistant Professor, MIT Literature Faculty
MIT’s Literature Faculty is seeking to hire an entry-level tenure-track Assistant Professor in Contemporary Fiction, Film, and Media. Emphasis on global Anglophone fiction, with comparative work across national cultures encouraged. In addition to application letter and CV, applicants should arrange for at least 3 letters of recommendation testifying to excellence in research and teaching to be sent by the application deadline. A successful candidate will have the PhD in hand by start date. Candidates should demonstrate a record of significant scholarly research and effective teaching.
The position involves 1) conducting significant scholarship likely to have a major impact on its field; 2) teaching undergraduate courses at Introductory, Intermediate, and Seminar tiers; 3) committee memberships and other forms of service to the Literature Faculty, the discipline, and the broader MIT community.
