Colorado School of Mines invites applications for the Hennebach Visiting Assistant Professor of Environmental Humanities. In addition to teaching 2/3 load (courses to be determined based on candidate's expertise), the successful candidate will assist the Director of the Hennebach Program in bringing humanities and arts related programming to the campus, as well as working to engage the campus and local communities in these activities. The candidate will also work with interested faculty in Liberal Arts and International Studies (LAIS) and across the campus in fostering a new, multi-disciplinary Environmental Studies minor.
Applicants must come from disciplines that fall under the broad umbrella of the humanities. We are especially interested in candidates whose work contributes to one or more of the following areas: environmental history, film studies, environmental studies, art and art history, media studies, gender studies, religious studies, environmental philosophy, or environmental justice. Applicants must have 1) a Ph.D. or MFA awarded no later than June 2017; 2) an active research agenda in issues related to the environmental humanities; 3.) demonstrated teaching experience as the sole instructor of university-level courses in environmental humanities-oriented courses.
