The Wheaton College (MA) Department of History seeks a full-time tenure-track assistant professor in Asian history, beginning in Fall 2017. Candidates must have PhD in History and have PhD in hand by June 30, 2017. Geographic field is open, with preference for China and/or South Asia. Chronological specialization is open, though applicants must be able to offer survey course on modern China and advanced courses broadly focused on their areas of research. Candidates with research and/or teaching expertise in economic development, global history, gender, and/or diasporic/transnational connections between Asia and elsewhere in the world are encouraged to apply. Wheaton College only accepts electronic submissions. Applications should consist of a cover letter, cv, and three letters of recommendation. Applicants must be able to provide proof that they are eligible to work in the U.S. Application deadline is November 1, 2016. The first round of interviews will be conducted at the AHA's annual conference in Denver.
