The Department seeks to hire a tenured associate or full professor in U.S. History in the World since the 19th century, whose research and teaching engages the broadest themes in modern international and transnational history. The department welcomes applications from scholars whose work engages states as well as non-state actors, cultural relations, and transnational subjects and spaces. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a record of scholarly publication and teaching excellence appropriate to their rank; a commitment to teaching a diverse student population; excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of specialization as well as surveys in modern U.S. or World History; and a readiness to advise MA theses and exams. Ph.D. in History required. This position benefits from a named endowment that provides renewable funding to support the individual chair and to advance the research and teaching profile of the Department as a whole.
