The College of William and Mary invites applications for a tenured/tenure-track faculty position in post-Civil War United States history at the advanced assistant to the full professor rank. The field of specialization is open. We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in the history of immigration, labor, race, ethnicity, and/or gender, but applications from all subfields of U.S. history are welcome. A PhD in History or a closely related field, a record of significant publications, and demonstrated excellence in teaching are required at the time of application. The successful candidate will teach both graduate and undergraduate courses, and will direct graduate students. The position commences August 10, 2017.
