The Department of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies at the University at Albany, State University of New York, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position beginning in fall 2017. The ideal candidate will have a strong research and teaching background in LGBT/Queer Studies, with an emphasis in one or more of the following areas: Intersectionality, including studies of race; transnational feminist studies; other interdisciplinary approaches. Scholars producing community-engaged scholarship are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates are expected to teach Introduction to LGBTQ Studies as well as undergraduate and graduate level core courses, with the potential to develop new courses in the their area of expertise.
Ph.D. by September 1, 2017 is required, with a preference for a degree in Women's Studies or other relevant fields and concentrations. The degree must be from a university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.
