History: Phillip R. Shriver Professor in History to start in the academic year beginning August 21, 2017. The History Department is a vibrant intellectual community with a strong scholarly profile; it intends to hire a distinguished scholar at the rank of full professor to teach, advise students, pursue an active research agenda, and provide service to the University.
Required: PhD in History; credentials appropriate to be appointed as full professor; active research agenda, a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching at all levels, and a desire to participate fully in the life of the department and university. Any field in History since 1750 complementary to current departmental strengths will be considered.
Strong preference will be given to scholars outside U.S. History whose research investigates global connections, interactions, and/or comparisons, in areas such as (but not limited to) empire, economics, environment, gender, and science.
