The Department of Political Science at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor in International Relations beginning fall 2017. Completion of Ph.D. in Political Science or related field is required prior to date of hire. The successful candidate will be able to teach lower-division courses in international relations and international ethics and upper-level courses in international law & organizations and human rights. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to teach and develop upper-division courses on the following: grand strategy, theory & practice of diplomacy, or intelligence & covert action. Moreover, the successful candidate will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, with the potential for establishing an active research agenda, an ability to support the interdisciplinary efforts of the Institute and/or the College of Liberal Arts, and an ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the college’s continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences. The political science department offers an undergraduate major in political science with specializations in political institutions, politics & the life sciences, and politics & information technology. The teaching load is 2-3. This position will also have the unique opportunity to work on a number of RIT's global initiatives, including supporting the Political Science Department’s engagement with RIT’s current global campuses in Kosovo, Croatia, and Dubai.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Completion of Ph.D. in Political Science or related field prior to date of hire
• Ability to teach lower-division courses in international relations and international ethics
• Interest in teaching upper-division courses on international law & organizations, and human rights
• Interest in teaching and developing courses on grand strategy, theory & practice of diplomacy, or intelligence & covert action
• Strong commitment to undergraduate education
