The Department of American Studies at California State University, Fullerton invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2017. Desirable research and teaching specializations include one or more of the following fields: sexuality; crime and violence; borderlands; and/or the cultural impact of digital media. Successful candidates must demonstrate an ability to teach core seminars in American Studies theories and methods at the undergraduate and graduate levels; offer introductory courses in American Studies and upper-division and graduate courses in their area(s) of specialization; advise students; engage in scholarly activities; and serve on academic committees and contribute to department and university governance. Positive decisions on tenure and promotion require excellent teaching and scholarship, peer-reviewed publications, and participation in the university and the profession.
