History of the Islamic World.
The Department of History at the University of Pittsburgh seeks applicants for a tenure-stream assistant professorship in the history of the Islamic world to begin in August 2017, pending budgetary approval. The PhD is required by the time of appointment. Theme, time period, and geographic focus are open. We welcome applications from single sub-region specialists as well as from scholars whose work embraces trans-regional approaches. Candidates should provide evidence of excellence in research languages and skills to train graduate students and be prepared to offer undergraduate surveys of the Islamic world as well as advanced topical/regional courses.
