POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Early North America Postdoctoral Fellowship in Teaching
THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO seeks applications for a postdoctoral fellow to teach the history of Early North America (to the early nineteenth century) with a start date of August 15, 2016. The University of New Mexico, located in Albuquerque, is a major public research university with a highly diverse student population. We seek an excellent teacher and accomplished scholar who can offer a variety of undergraduate courses in the history of Early North America, including the first half of the US history survey. All subfields are welcome. Duties include teaching two undergraduate courses each semester. The teaching fellow will report to a senior faculty member.
Minimum qualification: (1) PhD in History awarded by June 30, 2016; and (2) significant training in Early North America history.
Preferred qualifications: (1) a record of publication, or demonstrated potential to publish, within the field of expertise; (2) teaching experience at the university or college level; (3) demonstrable ability to teach upper-division courses in the history of Early North America; and (4) ability to teach the first half of the American History survey.
