University of Sussex, History
Lecturer in Early Modern History
|Institution Type:||College / University|
The University of Sussex seeks to appoint two permanent lecturers in Early Modern History (1500-1800). We welcome applications from scholars with research and teaching expertise in social, intellectual, gender and cultural history. The department is international in scope and we encourage applications from candidates who work on Britain, Europe or the wider world. We are also particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate methodological and theoretical innovation.
The successful candidates will possess a doctorate in History and be able to demonstrate teaching excellence. They will have an emerging track record of research publications in a variety of media and be able to demonstrate the potential impact of their research beyond the academy. Good communication skills, a passion for the subject area, and an ability to work productively as part of a collegial department are essential for this position.
For an informal discussion about the post, please contact the Head of the History Department, Professor Claire Langhamer, in the first instance by email at: firstname.lastname@example.org
