The Department of History at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications for a one-year, non-tenure-track lectureship, possibly renewable for a second year, in East Asian History. Appointment will begin August 1, 2016. The successful applicant must be able to teach World Civilization and upper-division courses in East Asian history. Preference will be given to candidates with research specialties in Japan (any time period) or modern China since 1600. Ph.D. is required. Applications should include a cover letter, CV, a sample syllabus, article-length writing sample, and two letters of recommendation. Cover letter and recommendations should address both the applicant's research expertise and teaching experience.
