The American Studies Program at Trinity College invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professorship. Candidates in any relevant methodology or specialty within the Civil War and Reconstruction era will be considered.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. or be advanced ABD candidates in American Studies, History, or related field. Potential for excellent teaching at an undergraduate institution is essential. The course load is five courses, ranging from an introduction to American Studies (AMST 203) and an advanced seminar on the Civil War and Reconstruction (HIST 354) to other special topic courses in the visitor’s area of research expertise. Ability to teach a history of American slavery is desired.
