The Faculty of Humanities seeks applications for a full-time academic position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointee will be responsible for teaching duties, contributing to programme development, engaging in departmental and Faculty services, and pursuing an active research and publication agenda, including the applications for competitive research grants from external sources.
Applicants should have a Doctoral Degree in the discipline of Pre-Modern Chinese History with teaching experience at the university level. They should also have a good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua). Preference will be given to those who have a record of research leading to high-quality refereed publications.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental benefits, and where applicable, housing benefits.
