Ethnic Studies/Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Instructor
The School of Cultural and Critical Studies at Bowling Green State University is seeking applicants for an Instructor position in the Department of Ethnic Studies and the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program. Duties include teaching general education courses in the department and program including Introduction to Ethnic Studies (ETHN 1010) and Introduction to Women’s Studies (WS 2000); at least one sexuality studies course such as Women’s Sexualities (WS 4450); upper-division courses such as Women and Interpersonal Violence (WS 3350), and Ethnicity in the United States (ETHN 3010). Candidates should have appropriate experience in teaching undergraduate general education courses. Ph.D. in appropriate discipline preferred. ABD in appropriate discipline required. All ABDs must have Masters degrees. Other preferred qualifications include: (1) a demonstrated record of teaching effectiveness in Ethnic Studies, Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, or related fields and (2) experience teaching general education cultural diversity courses. The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of renewal for additional terms. Starting date: August 2016.
The Department of Ethnic Studies and the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program are part of BGSU’s School of Cultural and Critical Studies. The interdisciplinary School also includes the American Culture Studies Program and the Department of Popular Culture.
