The Department of History at Georgetown University seeks an Assistant Teaching Professor (visiting assistant professor) in the history of East Central Europe and Russia for the 2016-2017 academic year. Applicants’ area of specialization and expertise may lie in any area or topic within those two fields. The successful candidate will teach five courses in total (2-3 or 3-2). These will include the two-semester, lower-level lecture sequence “East Central Europe I” (to 1918) and “East Central Europe II” (1918-present) as well as three upper-division undergraduate seminars. The seminars can be devised on any subject that includes a significant component of Russian history, with a preference for courses that cover the history of Imperial Russia. This is a one-year, non-renewable position.
