Instructor, History - FT, Tenure-Track
The Department of Global Studies at SUNY Orange invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in the teaching of World History. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate World History surveys and regional histories such as histories of the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, the Americas, Africa, the Atlantic or the Pacific.
This position requires a wide range of professional responsibilities and activities, including participation in curriculum and course development, departmental planning, attendance at department and college meetings, participation on department and Governance committees, student advising and other duties as assigned.
This instructor will be expected to participate in College and Department assessment initiatives.
Teaching assignments may be on the Middletown or Newburgh campus or both.
Requirements: Master's Degree in American or World History and college-level teaching experience required. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills as well as bilingual skills. An earned Doctorate in World or American History or appropriate transnational field preferred. Experience mentoring and advising students; experience in using computer technology and distance education; and experience in Western Civilization and the U.S. history surveys.
