The Department of East Asian Studies at New York University invites applications for a full-time non tenure-track appointment as a Korean Language Lecturer beginning September 1, 2016, pending budgetary and administrative approval. The initial appointment is for a minimum of one year with the possibility of multi-year renewals contingent on successful reviews. The program is seeking an instructor who has excellent command of both English and Korean, and who, at a minimum, holds an MA degree in Korean linguistics, applied linguistics, language pedagogy, Korean studies, or related field. Course load: three classes per semester.
The application must include cover letter, resume, a personal statement on teaching philosophy (as it applies to courses from the introductory to advanced level), and three letters of recommendation. Please note that shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide a teaching video at a later date.
