Pre-modern Middle East (including North Africa, Eastern Mediterranean, Arabian Peninsula, and Persia): The Department of History at Florida State University invites applications for a two-year (two consecutive nine-month contracts), full-time, non-tenure-track, non-renewable position at the rank of Postdoctoral Associate. Ph.D. required and must be in hand at time of appointment. The appointment will begin in August of 2016. Salary and benefits are competitive. The successful candidate's research and teaching will complement the department's existing strengths in the modern period and will contribute to FSU's interdisciplinary Middle East studies program. Submit in a single pdf a cover letter and curriculum vitae. Three letters of recommendation should be forwarded to Diane Dittgen at ddittgen@fsu.edu. For full consideration, applications must be received by March 1, 2016. Please direct questions to search committee chair, Professor Jonathan Grant, at jgrant@admin.fsu.edu. As an AA/EEO/Pro Disabled and Veteran employer and a public records agency, Florida State University is committed to diversity in hiring. We strongly encourage applications from women and members of traditionally underrepresented groups.
