The Department of Psychology, St. Thomas University, invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in Biological Psychology, at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin July 1, 2016, pending budgetary approval.
St. Thomas University is an undergraduate, liberal arts institution with a full-time enrolment of 1,900. Its students graduate with Bachelor of Arts, Applied Arts, Education, and Social Work degrees. The faculty members are distinguished teachers, researchers and scholars, and the University holds four Canada Research Chairs.
The Department of Psychology is seeking applicants who specialize in the area of Biological Psychology, broadly defined.
Responsibilities include maintaining a productive research program, undergraduate teaching (including introductory and advanced courses in Biological Psychology and Research Methods), honours thesis supervision, and service-related activities. Please note there are no facilities for animal research at St. Thomas University.
A PhD or imminent completion is required. Completed applications must include a letter of application that describes the applicant’s teaching experience, scholarly interests and achievements, and potential contributions to the program as specified in the qualifications listed above. The application must also include a curriculum vitae and a teaching dossier that provides evidence of teaching effectiveness, such as sample course syllabi, teaching evaluations, and a statement of teaching philosophy.
