FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Brooklyn College of The City University of New York invites applications and nominations for a two-year appointment in the rank of Visiting Associate/Full Professor to the Carol Zicklin Endowed Chair in the Honors Academy. The appointment will begin in fall 2016, and the incumbent will be affiliated with an appropriate academic department at Brooklyn College.
The Zicklin Professor will teach four interdisciplinary honors courses over the duration of the two-year appointment; advise and mentor Honors Academy students; and offer a faculty enrichment seminar that would culminate in a conference in cooperation with the Ethyle R. Wolfe Institute for the Humanities. The endowment of the Zicklin chair provides support for related activities that enrich the life of the Honors Academy and of the campus at large.
The Brooklyn College Honors Academy, the oldest and most respected in The City University of New York, enrolls 350 students and comprises nine honors programs, among them the CUNY Honors College, the Scholars Program, the Mellon Undergraduate Minority Program, and the Brooklyn College BA-MD Program.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of expertise, or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, interest in productive scholarship or creative achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
Preferred Qualifications

The successful candidate should be an accomplished teacher and established scholar who has produced a substantial body of publications, commensurate with appointment as associate or full professor, whose research and teaching integrate multiple disciplines and approaches, and who has some administrative experience.
