The Department of History at Florida International University is hiring a permanent Instructor in Modern Middle Eastern History (after 1800) beginning fall semester, 2016.
The preferred candidate will examine the wider interactions between the Middle East and the Mediterranean world and will offer some online courses for which FIU will provide full design and technical support. The teaching load will be four 3-credit courses per semester. Two shall be lower division courses and the other two upper division courses in the candidate's general fields or graduate courses.
The person to be hired will be expected to interface with the Wolfsonian-FIU, the Initiative for Muslim World Studies Program, and the Spanish and Mediterranean Studies Program in the Steven J. Green School for International and Public Affairs.
