The Department of History and Geography at Morgan State University invites applications for an open rank tenure-track position in African American History. Candidates with diasporic and/or transnational approaches are especially welcome. The successful applicant will teach undergraduate surveys in American and African American history and participate in our history undergraduate surveys in American and African American history and our history and African American Studies graduate programs. Potential for scholarship and some teaching experience desired for junior applicants. Senior applicants should be effective teachers and must show evidence of excellence in scholarly research. A Ph.D. in history is required by August 1, 2016. For best consideration, applicants should submit a letter of application; include a statement of research interest, CV, three letters of recommendation and unoffical transcripts by December 5, 2015. Interviews will be held at the AHA convention in January, 2016. Morgan State Universtiy, a Ph.D. Granting HBCU, is an AA/EC employer.
