The successful candidate will teach a 3/3 load (nine hours a semester), including up to two sections of World Civilizations each semester, and an upper-division Holocaust class once each academic year. The candidate should also be prepared to offer a course in Comparative Genocide. The successful candidate is expected to maintain a program of research and publication, to support the College of Arts and Sciences Holocaust and Genocide Studies Minor currently in development, to participate in the History Department’s M.A. program, and to develop and participate in UNO activities associated with the Frances and Sam Fried Holocaust Education Fund (http://www.holocausteducationfund.org/holocaust-education.html). The dissertation and all other work for a Ph.D. in history or a closely related field must be completed and approved by January 19, 2016, when the evaluation of applications will begin. The position will remain open until filled.
