The Department of History at the University of Nebraska at Omaha invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position, with a possibility of renewal for a second year, in Early Modern European History (1400-1800), to begin in August 2016. Geographic area of specialization is open. Teaching experience and scholarly publications are preferred. The successful candidate will teach a 3/4 (nine hours/twelve hours) load according to department needs, including sections of World Civilizations surveys along with upper-division undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Early Modern European History and the Renaissance. The dissertation and all other work for a Ph.D. in history or a closely related field must be completed and approved by January 19, 2016, when the evaluation of applications will begin.
