Position: Assistant Professor – Islamic World before 20th Century
Qualifications: Teaching experience and Ph.D. in History preferred; ABD in History close to completion considered.
Position Description: The successful candidate will teach survey courses in world history (pre and post-1500) as well as upper division undergraduate courses in area of specialty. Historians of the Middle East, Africa, Iberia, maritime Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and/or the Ottoman Empire, as well as transregional historians, are encouraged to apply. A commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring in a small, public liberal arts university, a willingness to work with interdisciplinary programs, and evidence of scholarly potential required.
