Assistant Professor - History

Position Summary:

The Department of History and Philosophy at Austin Peay State University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in Modern Western European history, excluding British history. Appointment begins August 1, 2016. We particularly welcome scholars whose work builds on transnational topics, or whose work contributes to campus and department strengths. The department seeks candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service. The successful candidate will contribute to the department's lower- and upper-division, and graduate history curriculum.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with education and experience.
 

Required qualifications:

-Earned doctorate or terminal degree from an accredited institution in the instructional discipline or related area or ABD if all requirements are met by date of hire.
-Evidence of potential ability in academic assignment and/or scholarly and creative achievement, and/or professional contributions and activities.
-Evidence of good character, mature attitude, and professional integrity.
-A background search will be required of the successful candidate.
