Samford University’s Department of History invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant or associate professor level in world history, beginning Fall 2016. Candidates will be expected to teach in a freshman-level, two-semester western core text sequence covering ancient to modern authors. Teaching responsibilities will also include surveys in world history and advanced courses in area of specialization. The successful candidate should have the proficiency to teach in more than one of the following fields: Africa, Asia, Europe and Middle East. Will also consider a secondary field in Latin America. Ph.D. must be in hand by time of appointment. Demonstrated evidence of superior teaching ability is expected. Applicants should submit a letter of application, three letters of reference, c.v., and evidence of teaching excellence to Dr. S.
